2/12/24 Studies Upon Studies

Over the past week, I began researching for my final product and gathered information to

write a product proposal. I collected multiple articles and sources from the internet, and my

mentor was kind enough to email me a few. A challenge with a lot of sources, however, was my

limited access. Much of the information I sought after was protected behind a paywall for some

scientific textbooks online. I was able to find other articles for now, but I will ask my mentor if

he has access to any of these more credible sources. I researched the foundational knowledge of

neurodevelopmental outcomes based on multiple studies. I was very interested to read about the

use of animals in these studies prior to clinical trials because I was able to use my previous

knowledge. Many recent advances have been made in these studies as well. My second research

assessment had a lot more about the nurture aspect of a child’s development. I loved reading

about this as well, but the most useful aspect I got from this source was the fact that children’s

brains develop in their first few years of life and it is hard to change after. I will be doing further

research because many studies are indecisive and inconclusive.
