The week before the very much-needed Thanksgiving Break was full of newfound
inspiration for my original work. I researched various children’s books aligning with my goals
and found interest in authors’ approaches. I planned on making some decisions and progress
throughout the break but, as usual, I did not fulfill my plans. Time really got away from me
during break and I spent half of it on vacation. We went to a lake house and the cold weather was
perfect for bonfires and s'mores. Despite fun days of hiking and paddle boarding and a hefty
Thanksgiving feast, I ended up staring at my computer screen the whole ride home (trying not to
get motion sick). My lack of productivity over break has left me with a lot of work for this week.
On top of the five tests—and our 20-page DECA paper—I have the SAT this weekend. It feels
like I’m in the middle of the Turkey Trot, just trying to get through this week. I am trying my
best to allocate time for everything well but time management has never been my strong suit! I
hope to really get the chance to focus on ISM work next week. I need to outline a well-timed
plan for finishing my product by the deadline that is rapidly approaching.
