10/23/23 Origin of the Original Work

This past week I faced challenges in my other classes, but I also made decisions that will set the tone for the rest of my year in ISM. After meeting with Mr. Ratliff and my ISM small group, I concluded that I needed to conduct more interviews and review the mentor guidebook. I currently have a possible mentor but I want to make sure that he can offer me everything I want in a mentor (shadowing!). From the beginning of the year, I had an idea about a final product. However, I learned more about original works and past student examples, so I decided to use my idea for original work instead. I am excited to start working on that and will begin specific research soon. I also hope to expand this original work beyond the classroom and into nearby hospitals. Besides original work, I reflected on one of my interviews in a research assessment. I gathered a lot of information so I plan on delving into the more specific responses in my next interview assessment. I hope to interview someone younger soon so that our perspectives may align better, especially regarding the current education requirements as opposed to those of the past or in other countries.
